Roanoke City Council has announced that Valmarie Turner will be the new city manager beginning in mid-January, 2025. She previously served as Deputy City Manager for the City of Fairfax, Virginia. See highlights from the announcement, as Ms. Turner reflected on her selection by saying; "I'm a relationship builder, that's just who I am. I love people, and I love to improve lives. And I am excited about doing all of those things with all of you."
